Why we built it

Aurora apps love to shout. A storm on the sun does not mean a show over your house — clouds, daylight and the moon all get a vote. Solwind folds the solar wind, the auroral oval, cloud cover, darkness and the moon into one number for your sky tonight.

What it does

01

One honest number

Solar wind, the auroral oval, clouds, darkness and the moon — combined into a single score for where you stand.

02

Alerts that respect your sleep (Pro)

Solwind only pings you when it’s actually dark and clear enough to see something.

03

On your wrist and Lock Screen (Pro)

Apple Watch, widgets, Live Activities and the Dynamic Island keep the sky one glance away.

04

Built on open science

Space-weather data from NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center and cloud forecasts from MET Norway, read with care.
